An Integrated Development of Recycling and Reusing Technology from the Plastic Waste and the Electronic Waste

The service life of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is getting shorter with high expiration ratio, and the waste polarizer are multiple raise. The resource regenerate methods of waste polarizer are not mature so burying and burning are the major processes in Taiwan. However, the traditional processes not only can’t decrease the waste polarizer, but also cause the environmental contamination. Besides, Polypropylene (PP) is one of the plastic, which is applied to washing machine widely and numerously. In general, PP has low density, high modulus, high hardness, excellent chemical-resistant and excellent wear-resistant. In addition to reduce the quantity of waste effectively, it is important to develop an innovative technology of recycled PP/polarizer composite. This study is devoted to develop the recycled and reused technology of waste polarizer and waste PP (which is from washing machine). Recipe design, coupling technology, compounding technology, simulation analysis, injection / extrusion molding integration are the key points of this sub-project. Finally, we could complete the recycled PP/polarizer composite. After that, we could produce the eco-product and apply to the formworks or pellets. We could fit the green eco-trend of material reuse and resource sustainability. Furthermore, the reuse of waste polarizer is not only to protect the environment, prevent and control of pollution, but also conducive to the recycling of resources, save a lot of energy, and to promote sustainable economic development.
